I am a photographer with a professional background in architecture. I am from Canada but I now live in a tiny village in France. The title of this blog represents how much of a change I was looking for. Life now, compared to living in a big city with central heating, is much slower. Like waiting for that drip, in the waiting there is pause, there is presence, there is anticipation.
So it starts here. A diary of life in a tiny village, that is not particularly remarkable, in a house that I could have only dreamt about. Far away from friends, family and 24 hour shopping, I want to document how the journey goes.
There will be travel – by bike, car, trains and planes.
There will be photography – exhibitions, inspiration, events, work and observation.
There will be architecture – it is France after all.
And of course, there will be confusion and delight – it is France after all.
It will be varied. It will be the same.
This is what happens around here.
